Jonathan B. Hart is Discipleship Pastor at Shalimar United Methodist Church in Shalimar, Florida, as of July 1, 2011. He grew up in Daphne, AL, and from there attended the University of South Alabama and the University of Mobile, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts. It was at UM that he met his wife, Liz, who is a nurse. They married in 2007. Jonathan has an MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, and was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2013. Jonathan and Liz have two kids – Noah, born in August 2010, and Eden, born in May 2012. In 2014, the Harts added a dog to the family – Trooper, a fitting name for a family serving a church one mile from the largest U.S. Air Force base in the world.
Jonathan likes spending time with family, movies, disc golf, music (listening and playing), books, and good conversation. He is also a recovering coffee addict. He loves preaching and teaching and endeavors to be a lifelong student. If he can somehow do that well, then he thinks he will get to be what he wants to be when he grows up.
